Es war kein Aprilscherz: Am 1. April wurden wirklich die ESU Frühjahrsneuheiten veröffentlicht. Ab 2025 wird dies immer anlässlich der Intermodellbau Dortmund der Fall sein. Wir hoffen sehr, dass unsere Neuheiten ab sofort auf Ihrer Modellbahnanlage eine neue Heimat finden und für eine hochwertige "Aus-Zeit" bei Ihrem Modellbahnhobby sorgen werden. Immerhin sind einige Neuheiten zu finden: Mit dem Mobile Control Pro dürfen wir Ihnen die Neuauflage unseres Android-basierten Profi-Handreglers vorstellen. Das Mobile Control Pro vereint die kinderleichte Bedienung eines Smartphones mit den speziellen Anforderungen des Modellbahners im Hinblick auf die Bedienerschnittstelle. Das Mobile Control Pro benutzt WLAN zur Verbindung mit der Digitalzentrale. Die von ESU bereitgestellte App kann sich hierbei mit einer Vielzahl von Digitalzentralen verbinden. Somit ist das Mobile Control Pro nicht auf die Verwendung mit ESU Zentralen beschränkt. Neben den ESU ECoS und CabControl Zentralen nimmt das Mobile Control Pro auch Verbindung mit einer Roco ® Z21® oder Märklin® Central Station® 3 auf und kann auch mit allen Zentralen benutzt werden, die das weitverbreitete WiThrottle™ Protokoll beherrschen – wie etwa Uhlenbrock Intellibox® Neo oder Digitrax® LNWI und andere. Das Mobile Control Pro bietet mit seinem motorischen, haptischen Regler, seinen 4 programmierbaren Tasten sowie seinem analogen „Bremsregler“ an der rechten Seite gepaart mit  der einfachen Bedienung mit Touchpanel endlich eine Alternative für alle Kunden, die zwar drahtlos steuern möchten, denen eine App auf dem Handy jedoch zu wenig „haptisch“ ist. Passend dazu bieten wir die Mobile Control Pro Docking Station an, die für eine sichere Aufbewahrung sorgt, aber auch als Ladeschale verwendet werden kann. Die Docking-Station kann entweder als Pult auf der Anlage, oder auch direkt senkrecht an die Anlage verschraubt werden. Die Docking Station passt selbstverständlich auch für die bisherigen Mobile Control II bzw Piko® SmartControl® Handregler. Unsere bewährten Digital-Innenbeleuchtungssets mit konstanter Helligkeitselektronik für Personenwagen ab Spur N erfahren ab Ende 2025 ein umfangreiches Facelift: Mit 264mm sind sie nun 9mm länger, weil vorne und hinten jeweils eine (abtrennbare) LED für die Einstiegsbeleuchtung hinzu kommt. Der verbaute Digitaldecoder beherrscht nun neben DCC und Märklin® Motorola® jetzt auch RailComPlus® und kann nun ohne Einschränkungen auch auf anlogen AC- und DC-Anlagen eingesetzt werden. Die Fahrtrichtung wird hierbei korrekt erkannt. Das von den LokSound 5 und LokPilot 5 bekannte Funktion Mapping erlaubt nun auch bei den Innenbeleuchtungen umfangreiche Anpassungen an die individuellen Vorlieben.  Die  Innenraumbeleuchtungen kommen wie gewohnt mit montiertem roten Schlusslicht. Bei Bedarf können an Lötpads weitere LEDs angeschlossen werden (3 Ausgänge sind jetzt vorhanden). Auch ein passender PowerPack Kondensator kann ergänzt werden. Aufgrund des großen Erfolgs unserer LokSound 5 micro Decoder speziell für Kato (USA) N Spur Fahrzeuge, wurden zwei weitere Decoder entwickelt, die in einige KATO N Spur Loks verbaut werden können: Der LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA SC44 sowie der LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA SD90. Somit passt nun in fast jede Kato N Spur Lok einer unserer LokSound 5 Decoder. Das Sortiment an Bassreflex- und Zuckerwürfellautsprecher wird ergänzt: Neben einem Bassreflex-Lautsprecher passend für Scaletrains Lokomotiven wird es auch einen neuen, 13x18mm grossen Lautsprecher geben, der aufgrund seines Schalldrucks für anspruchsvolle Aufgaben in Loks der Spurweiten H0 und 0 zum Einsatz kommen kann. Für kleinere N-Spur Fahrzeuge eignet sich der 10x12mm Lautsprecher, der trotz seiner geringen Dimensionen mit einem eindrucksvollen Klang aufwarten kann. Zur Verbesserung der Einbausituation wird es drei weitere Adapterplatinen geben: Eine passt für Kato USA N Spur „Widebody“ Loks und kann einen Decoder mit E24 Schnittstelle aufnehmen, eine Adapterplatine mit PowerPack ist für amerikanische H0-Loks von Athearn, Atlas und Intermountain gedacht, die ebenfalls Decoder mit E24 Interface akzeptiert. Interessant dürfte auch die dritte Adapterplatine sein: Sie schlägt eine Brücke zwischen der 14MTC Schnittstelle einiger Minitrix® Loks und Decodern mit Next18 Schnittstelle. Endlich können auch diese Loks mit einem  LokPilot 5 micro Next18 oder LokSound 5 Nano Next18 ausgestattet werden.

TAIWAN: Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp and the Hitachi Toshiba Supreme Consortium have signed an agreement for the detailed interior design of the 12 Series N700S high speed trainsets, which were ordered in May 2023 at a cost of NT$28bn.

UK: A report has found that additional capacity could be provided at Temple Mills depot in London to support plans for new cross-Channel passenger services. However incumbent operator Eurostar says the options would not provide sufficient capacity to support even one operator’s plans without significant investment.
